If you've been looking to play Minecraft with your gamers on the Apple TV, it's time to get excited. The most recent update to this popular game's Apple TV version includes "Realms," Minecraft’s subscription-based multiplayer system. The upgraded version also comes with Xbox Live authentication support, that allows players to access their avatars linked to them and character skins. Realms accounts are like purchasing the Minecraft server. However the account is run by Microsoft and you don't have to worry about hosting or IP addresses. You get to control who can visit your private Minecraft Realm as well. This way, you don't have to worry about anyone trashing your world while you race around fighting exploding Creepers or building insane recreations of King's Landing from Game of Thrones. You can buy either a 10- or two-player Realm of your own for $3.99 and $7.99, respectively. Existing Realms subscriptions for Mac, Linux, or PC won't be allowed to play with their iOS and Apple TV brethren. lion is the king of the jungle There are two Realms systems that are available for PCs and one that includes iOS and Android users. We reached out to see whether there are plans to connect the two systems. The procedurally-generated worlds of Minecraft deserve to be explored with others; now Apple TV and iOS fans have a chance to do just that... as long as they stick to their own platform.
