His family have confirmed the news in a poignant farewell video posted on his behalf. The video, which was titled "so long geeks" and posted to his 10 million followers, showed his father calling him "the most amazing kid you could ever wish for". The US internet celebrity gained fame through livestreaming and posting clips of his playing the videogame sandbox. Technoblade announced to his fans last year that he was diagnosed with cancer. The message of farewell, written hours before his death and read by his father, read: "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. I am dead." He then revealed that his real name was actually Alex recalling the time he tricked viewers into believing his name was Dave. "Thank you all for your support of my content throughout the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred years to live I'm sure I'd prefer to be Technoblade again every single time as those were the happiest years of my life." The online star, who took home Minecraft tournaments and legions of fans chatting about his life in a humorous manner when playing the game, explained in a video for fundraising published in February that he undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a limb-salvage operation after he developed a painful tumor in his right arm. From being a massive fan, to becoming one of his friends, I cannot even begin to describe how grateful I am to have had the privilege of being in his life. "He was so witty and humble in the most difficult of circumstances. I'll always look up to him." He explained that a percentage of proceeds from online orders for the items of his son's death would now go to charity. The video concluded with a letter from his family. It read: "We, the family of Technoblade we wanted you to know just how much he adored and loved his fans and his colleagues. "From Technoblade's earliest online days, he was constantly figuring out ways to delight and reward his fans by giving away prizes online and encouraging good sportsmanship and, most importantly, sharing his Minecraft adventures to entertain and laugh. "Even after his eventual successes he still managed to maintain his good-natured humour, and compete with an endearing balance between confidence and self-deprecating humor."
