After a huge bomb hoax shut down hundreds of colleges and schools across the UK, the teen believed to be at the center of a Minecraft gamers' dispute was arrested. Hertfordshire police arrested the 19-year-old after 24,000 threatening emails to schools were sent out warning of a bomb attack , and soliciting money. The emails were spoofed to look as if they had been sent by a gaming network known as VeltPvP. VeltPvP is an Minecraft player-versus player server, which is the kind of server that businesses make use of to sell their products to gamers. They are thought to be sent by an organization that wanted to undermine VeltPvP. They said in a statement that they understood parents' and teachers concerns, but we want to stress that there was no credible threat to the schools' emails. Signs were put up in front of Cardinal Road School in Feltham following the bomb hoax emails The feud was based on the notion that rivals were involved in illegal activities to prevent each other from doing business. The blame is being placed on VeltPvP the hoaxer claimed VeltPvP was involved in a series of Direct Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks - which he alleges were used to shut down other competitors' Minecraft servers. Parents were urged to pick up their children following the bomb hoax threat email In an announcement, VeltPvP said: 'We've been harassed by cybercriminals who are trying to harass us in every way they can. We're sorry for everyone who had to deal with this, but just know it's not real.' The email was sent to more than 400 schools and colleges across the nation. It claimed that the bomb was already planted and would explode if the money was not provided. Cardinal Road School, Feltham West London was one of the schools to receive the hoax email. Police forces from London, Bristol, Liverpool, Bedfordshire and the the North East were among those conducting an investigation. Parents at some schools requested to be able to pick their children up amid fears over the emails. Six schools in Hertfordshire were also affected: Abbots Hill, Valley School, Stevenage, The Sele School, Duncombe School, Stanborough School, Watford, St Albans High School and Valley School.
