Minecraft 1.19 is available today, bringing the Wild Update's new mobs, biomes, and technical tweaks. It's the final push for (almost all) the new features that were initially presented to players at Minecraft Live 2020. It also will mark the end of three major updates. As always, there are no secrets hidden on launch day, Agnes Larsson, Minecraft game director and Ulraf Vaknin, developer, assure me. Mojang is committed to player feedback otherwise why bother with snapshot builds, betas or release candidates-and the developers talked about some of the changes 1.19 underwent after users got involved. The Wardens, who pose a risk might have experienced the most changes during the course of development. "That was a space where we sought feedback from our technical players and our challenge players," Vaknin explains. In their March snapshot the Wardens were already quite frightening when I first tried to play with them. They made a terribly intense heartbeat noise when agitated and roared in my face, and obliterated every poor chicken I spawned in their path to distract them. They now have a sonic attack too, a ranged ability emanating from their chests to deal avec players who managed to cleverly creep out of their long arms reach. Based on feedback from Minecraft players who love the redstone tech aspect of Minecraft and the Skulk, the new Warden-summoning blocks, was also modified. Minecraft update What's new? Minecraft skins (opens new tab). New designs Minecraft mods. Beyond the vanilla Minecraft shaders. Spotlight Minecraft seeds. New worlds to explore. Minecraft texture pack. Pixelated Minecraft servers. All cheats. Vaknin says, "It's quite technical." He then explains that the Skulk sensors stopped registering the first sound that is in the code and are now responding to the nearest sound. "We saw some contraptions that people tried to construct, but they didn't work due to that quirkiness in the code and we changed the code to be more intuitive." Feedback continues to have a major influence on ideas that Mojang decides to leave. In the lead to the Wild Update, fireflies, originally pitched as frog food for Minecraft Live 2020, were a surprising topic of contention. A recent video of Q&A was titled "What did fireflies do to Minecraft 1.19?" In the video, the producer Anna Lundgren explained that players had warned that fireflies could be poisonous to Frogs. In our chat, Larsson and Vaknin elaborate that it wasn't only players who raised the alarm. Vaknin states that pet store owners contacted me and said that it was already a problem due to people not being aware of it. "So people have already made this error and if Minecraft increases the risk, it only increases the risk." "We are able to reach millions of players," Larsson says. "And that should come with an enormous responsibility. We were aware that the release of a feature like fireflies that can be poisonous for frogs and then letting Frogs eat them could result in people killing real frogs. We reach millions of players and that should come with a great responsibility. My instinct is to argue that developers can change their minds about features they are developing for just about any reason but Larsson's more rational explanation is probably the smarter one. Minecraft has been more than just a game for many years. MY CMS It's now being marketed as an educational tool. New Minecraft features aren't just beholden to Bedrock or Java editions or PC or Xbox interfaces, but Mojang must consider its role as a source of entertainment and education for its large audience of young kids. Larsson says that the new bugs were much more limited without fireflies as food for frogs. Mojang has decided to eradicate these bugs completely and then send them back to the grand ideas catalogue. This will enable Mojang to concentrate on other features within the pipeline. What are they personally looking forward to in the new 1.19 features, Vaknin is excited about seeing new Allay friends flying around houses and builds. Larsson, a player who is a true friend of mine, is thrilled about finding new mangrove swamps, and creating new builds using the mangrove wood set, which is reddish and the mud blocks. Minecraft 1.19 is available today, with a many notes on patches and is available as a new version within your Minecraft Launcher. Today is also the day that all Minecraft players can access both Java and Bedrock versions of the game even if they previously owned one or the other.
