A teenager from South East London has been detained for sharing a bomb-making guide online, disguised as a tutorial for the popular video game Minecraft. Connor Burke, 19, an 19-year-old London student at a London university, shared the manual, which contained information on how to create improvised explosive devices (IEDs) via Telegram to a group of approximately 12,000 users. After tracking him through his social media account, police arrested Burke at his home with his family in Bexleyheath and found additional documents relating to terrorists on his devices, Woolwich Crown Court heard. A search of his bedroom also discovered a copy of Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf and The Anarchist Cookbook which offered advice for the construction of explosives, the court was told. In a hearing in July 2021, he pleaded guilty in the dissemination of terrorist publications, and to four counts of possession of an item that could be helpful for someone planning or committing a terrorist act.My Games He was sentenced by Woolwich Crown Court for a total of 42 months in prison and 12 months on licence.
